Bernard Wientjes

Bernard Wientjes (1943) is Chairman of the Supervisory Board since September 2023. This is his second time, having already served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board for 6.5 years between 2015 and 2021. Bernard has years of experience in governance and the public sector, including as chair of employers’ organization VNO-NCW.

He also spent three decades as an entrepreneur in his family business, Wientjes Beheer b.v., with Ucosan (producer of plastic sanitary ware) as its largest operating company. He was also a member of the Executive Board of Villeroy & Boch and is Emeritus Professor of Entrepreneurship and Leadership at the University of Utrecht.
