The EU’s introduction of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) has given voice to the global paradigm shift towards limiting global warming to “well below 2 degrees Celsius”, as the 2016 Paris Agreement demands. Since the CSRD also entails considerable ESG reporting implications for non-EU based companies, European subsidiaries of Japanese companies will now need to report detailed ESG information.
