Accounting Manager (London Base, Cantonese Speaker)

Our client is a prominent magazine company that recently expanded their operations to the United Kingdom. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and bilingual UK Accounting Manager to join their team in London. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while collaborating with their Hong Kong team, making it an ideal position for individuals who are fluent in both English and Cantonese. As the UK Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations in our UK office. You will work closely with the Hong Kong team to ensure effective communication and coordination between locations. Your primary focus will be managing financial reporting, compliance, and accounting activities, while also providing guidance to the local finance team. Travel may be required periodically to facilitate in-person meetings and collaboration. 

• Manage and supervise the day-to-day accounting operations of the UK office.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with UK accounting standards and regulations.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Coordinate with the Hong Kong finance team to align financial processes, policies, and reporting requirements.
• Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support business decision-making.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax compliance.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the UK office, working closely with department heads.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the local finance team, fostering their professional development.
• Travel to Hong Kong and other locations as needed to facilitate collaboration and participate in meetings.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is highly desirable.
• Extensive experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in the media industry.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulations.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Cantonese is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams across different locations.
• Proven leadership abilities and experience in managing a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
