James is a Partner in KPMG’s transfer pricing practice as well as its affiliated law firm, KPMG Law LLP. He has extensive experience in a variety of complex transfer pricing matters, including audit defense, competent authority cases, advance pricing arrangements (APA), transfer pricing planning, and documentation studies.

James is a lawyer with more than 23 years of experience in international tax and transfer pricing. Prior to joining KPMG, he was the Director of Transfer Pricing at one of the world’s largest companies. James also practiced with another “big four” consulting firm. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked for several years as a financial analyst with a large Canadian-based multinational corporation.

James is KPMG Canada’s transfer pricing partner in charge of its Dispute Resolution Practice. He has significant and broad experience with all forms of transfer pricing dispute resolution mechanisms in Canada, and in particular, APAs, Competent Authority and audits.

He is one of the most experienced and accomplished transfer pricing practitioners in Canada and has been working full time in transfer pricing since 1996.
