Indigenous internship program

The Indigenous Internship Program is offered to all students and recent graduates who self-identify as Indigenous/Aboriginal (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) peoples of Canada. This optional program provides additional opportunities for interns to learn, grow, and network with each other as they participate in our wider programming within audit, tax, advisory or digital.

Career opportunities are available in Canada across all our service lines, including Audit, Tax, Advisory, Digital, and ESG.

Students and recent graduates will receive support from the Indigenous Enablement and Recruitment Manager, Jade Psutka. Jade has worked in Indigenous recruitment and inclusion for over six years and through her role, helps connect students with employment opportunities, post-secondary scholarships and guidance during the application and interview process. Jade manages the Indigenous Internship Program in collaboration with the National Indigenous Peoples Network and team managers.

The Indigenous Mentorship Program is built on the following principles in support of KPMG discovery, development of skills and growth of self and community.

• Fostering Networks: By cultivating meaningful relationships and opportunities that assist in business understanding, providing advice and supporting with guidance.
• Building Capabilities: With the support of a strong network of collaborators, we support with the skills, knowledge and experiences that early talent needs to succeed.
• Developing Emerging Leaders: In reaching milestones and celebrating success stories of impact as we inspire the next generation of leaders.

Notable events from Summer 2021 included: Bannock Making, KPMG Indigenous & Canadian Tax Guide Session, KPMG Australia & Canada Global Indigenous Connect, Traditional Medicine Teaching and a panel session and event with Anthony Johnson, winner of The Amazing Race Canada.

Eligibility Disclaimer: To be eligible for this program, you need to self-identify as Indigenous (First Nation, Métis or Inuit), be currently attending college or university, or have recently graduated.
