Ben Ellis

His areas of specialisation include economic appraisal, cost-benefit analysis, business case development, transport economics, regulation, demand forecasting, pricing and public policy analysis. Ben has led the economic appraisal and business case development of a number of major projects covering precincts, freight, roads, public transport (rail, bus, taxi), airports and ports.

Ben brings both local and international experience having worked on projects in Australia, Singapore, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Botswana and Papua New Guinea. Ben has written guidance material on the economic appraisal of transport projects, and has presented research at numerous conferences in Australia and overseas. His current research focus is on the economics of connected and autonomous vehicles, and the economics of alternative funding mechanisms for infrastructure projects.
